Our Chapter
Since arriving at UC Irvine in 1995, SigEp has been setting the bar for what it means to be a balanced leader. Our Balanced Man Program sets our chapter apart from other fraternities. Through our four year member development program, SigEps are exposed to the cornerstones of the Balanced Man Program, which are Mentoring, Community Involvement, Experiential Learning, and Brotherhood.
Through the Balanced Man Program, SigEp has eliminated the pledge process completely, granting all members the same rights and privileges from day one. Hazing plays no role in the development of leaders, but instead, we implement challenges that help to build a Sound Mind and Sound Body.
The House
As one of the only five fraternities with a house on campus, we warmly open up a second place of residence to you. This centralized location contributes to our unparalleled brotherhood on campus and allows for easy planning of all sorts of social activities. In comparison to the five fraternity houses on campus, the Greek system has 9 sorority houses on site as well. Thus, we are able to socialize with a variety of great women right within our vicinity.
SigEp Prides Itself As a Social Fraternity
- Exchanges with sororities: dinners, parties, venue events, barbecues, weeklong exchanges, etc.
- Parties: With an average of two parties per quarter, such as our annual “Studio 54″ and “SigEp’s of Hazzard” parties, venues are rented out and buses shuttle hundreds of people to the clubs and back all night.
- Formals: In Fall, we host our Founder’s Day Ball where brothers and their dates celebrate the founding of our fraternity. In Spring, our annual King of Hearts Formal is thrown with a weekend in Vegas.
- Retreats: We hold quarterly brotherhood retreats; in the past, we have gone white water rafting, paintballing, camping, etc. Our annual winter retreat is always a weekend to look forward to in Big Bear.
- Always something to do: With brothers living all across Irvine and Newport Beach (and everywhere in between) you can expect countless parties, kickback, and great times all year.
